"In Bathsheba, it's important to respect the local customs and traditions. Dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites or rural areas. Avoid wearing beachwear in town or other non-beach locations. Barbadians, also known as Bajans, value politeness and good manners. Always greet people before starting a conversation and avoid interrupting others. It's considered rude to point directly at someone with your finger. Instead, use your whole hand to gesture in a general direction. Avoid discussing sensitive topics such as politics, religion, or racial issues unless you are very familiar with the person you are talking to. Barbados has strict laws against illegal drugs. Never buy, use, or carry any type of illegal substance. It's also considered impolite to raise your voice or display aggressive behavior. Bajans are generally calm and reserved, and they appreciate when visitors behave the same way. While tipping is not mandatory in Barbados, it's appreciated for good service. However, always check your bill first as some establishments automatically add a service charge. Finally, remember that the island operates on 'Bajan time', which means things often happen at a slower pace than you might be used to.
