What do expats find most challenging?

Answer this Question

We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Andros Island. They wrote...

"Expats in Andros Island may find the laid-back, slower pace of life challenging, especially if they are used to a fast-paced, high-stress environment. The local dialect, which is a unique blend of English and African languages, can also be difficult to understand for newcomers. Additionally, the island's isolation and limited amenities can be a challenge for those used to having a wide variety of services and entertainment options readily available. The high cost of living and limited job opportunities can also be challenging for expats. Lastly, adjusting to the tropical climate, with its high humidity and hurricane season, can be difficult for those not used to such weather conditions," said another expat in Andros Island, Bahamas.
