What do expats find most challenging?

Answer this Question

We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Sandys. They wrote...

"Expats in Sandys often find the high cost of living to be a significant challenge, as the island is one of the most expensive places to live in the world. The slow pace of life, known as "island time", can also be difficult for those accustomed to a faster, more punctual lifestyle. Additionally, the limited availability of goods and services can be frustrating, as many items must be imported and can be subject to delays or high costs. The humid subtropical climate, while appealing to some, can also be a challenge for those not used to such weather. Lastly, while English is the official language, the local Bermudian accent and slang can sometimes be difficult for expats to understand," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Sandys, Bermuda.
