What do expats find most challenging?

Answer this Question

We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Quepos. They wrote...

"Expats in Quepos often find the language barrier to be the most challenging aspect of the local culture. Many locals speak Spanish as their primary language, and while some may be able to communicate in English, it is not as widely spoken as it is in other parts of the country. Additionally, expats may find it difficult to adjust to the slower pace of life in Quepos, as well as the more relaxed attitude towards punctuality. Finally, expats may find it difficult to navigate the local bureaucracy, as the paperwork and processes can be quite complex," remarked another expat in Quepos, Costa Rica.
