What do expats find most challenging?
We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Santa Lucia. They wrote...
"Expats in Santa Lucia often find the language barrier to be the most challenging aspect of the local culture, as Spanish is the primary language spoken and not everyone is fluent in English. The slower pace of life can also be a challenge for those accustomed to a more fast-paced, structured environment. Additionally, the local customs and social norms can be difficult to navigate for newcomers. The lack of certain amenities and services that they might be used to in their home countries, such as high-speed internet or certain types of healthcare, can also be challenging. Lastly, safety and security can be a concern, as Honduras has high crime rates in certain areas," said a member in Santa Lucia, Honduras.
