Will I save money living in Medellin?
We asked expats if they save money living in Medellin. They said...
"We easily live on our combined Social Security, and that was our goal. Since we signed up for the National health insurance, we were able to cancel our Medicare costs and supplements. That saved us over $500 per month," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Medellin, Colombia.
"Living in Medellin can be significantly cheaper than living in the United States. The cost of living in Medellin is much lower than in the US, with rent, food, and transportation being significantly cheaper. Additionally, the Colombian peso is much weaker than the US dollar, meaning that US dollars can go much further in Colombia. As a result, living in Medellin can be a great way to save money," commented one expat who made the move to Medellin, Colombia.
