"In New Providence, there is a wide range of healthcare services available, including primary care physicians, specialists, hospitals and clinics, diagnostic services and more. Residents of New Providence can access a comprehensive network of public and private healthcare facilities, many of which are accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI). The primary care service in New Providence is provided by the New Providence Health Services Authority, a not-for-profit public entity. This Authority provides a wide range of preventive, curative and rehabilitative services to the citizens of New Providence. Additionally, many of the major hospitals and clinics in the country are privately owned and offer a full range of medical services. The government of New Providence is committed to providing Access to Universal Health Care, and is working closely with international stakeholders to promote access to quality healthcare for all," said another expat in New Providence, Bahamas.

"There are several clinics on the island as well as two large hospitals (one public and one private). We are also very close to Miami should you need a second opinion on something more serious. I personally have used the clinics and private hospital here without any issues. Most of the doctors are trained abroad and are quite competent," wrote a member who made the move to New Providence, Bahamas.
