What are healthcare services like in Mamanuca Islands?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Mamanuca Islands. They wrote...

"Healthcare services in the Mamanuca Islands, are relatively basic due to the islands' remote location. There are local clinics available that provide primary healthcare services, including general check-ups, minor surgeries, and basic medical treatments. For more serious conditions or emergencies, patients are often transported to the mainland where there are larger hospitals with more comprehensive facilities. Medical staff on the islands are well-trained, but resources and equipment can be limited. It's recommended for visitors to have travel insurance that covers medical evacuation, as this can be necessary for more serious conditions. Pharmacies are not widely available on the islands, so it's advised to bring necessary medications. Despite these challenges, the Fijian government is committed to improving healthcare services in the islands, with ongoing efforts to enhance medical facilities and resources," remarked another expat in Mamanuca Islands, Fiji.
