"Muscat is generally considered to be a safe city. However, there have been reports of petty crime such as pickpocketing and bag snatching in some areas. It is advised to take extra precautions when travelling in the city, such as avoiding carrying large amounts of cash and keeping valuables out of sight. Additionally, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to avoid walking alone at night," remarked another expat who made the move to Muscat, Oman.
