What should I pack when moving to Suncheon?
We asked people living in Suncheon to list three things they wish they had brought and three they wish they had left behind. They responded...
"When moving to Suncheon, it's important to pack clothing suitable for all four seasons, as the city experiences a wide range of temperatures throughout the year. This includes lightweight clothing for the hot and humid summers, as well as warm clothing for the cold winters. You should also pack a good pair of walking shoes, as Suncheon is a city with many beautiful parks and natural attractions that you'll likely want to explore on foot. Don't forget to bring any prescription medications you may need, along with a copy of your prescription. While Korea has excellent healthcare, it can sometimes be difficult to find specific medications, especially if they are not commonly used in the country. Pack a universal power adapter, as the plugs in Korea may be different from those in your home country. Bring personal hygiene products that you are used to, as some Western brands may not be available in Korea. If you're planning on cooking at home, you might want to pack some of your favorite spices or ingredients that might be hard to find in Korea. Remember to bring important documents such as your passport, visa documents, and any other identification you might need. Lastly, consider packing some small gifts from your home country. Gift-giving is a common practice in Korean culture, and it can be a nice way to introduce yourself to new friends or neighbors," commented one expat who made the move to Suncheon, Korea.
