"To travel to Cabo San Lucas, non-Mexican citizens must first apply for a visa from their closest Mexican consulate. Those seeking to stay in Mexico for more than 180 days are required to apply for and receive a visa from the Mexican consulate in their home country. Visa applicants will typically need to provide documentation, such as a valid passport, proof of sufficient economic resources, and proof of accommodation, as well as pay a visa fee. To become a permanent resident of Mexico, foreign nationals must apply for a Residente Permanente visa. This visa is generally valid up to four years, after which it can be renewed. To apply, applicants must first provide proof of sufficient economic resources, as well as documentation demonstrating their intent to remain in Mexico, such as proof of family in Mexico, a certified job contract, or proof of educational activities. Typically, applicants must also interview with immigration officials. If approved for the visa, affected persons will receive identity documents, allowing them to exercise their rights in Mexico as well as travel outside of the country," wrote a member who made the move to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
