What are healthcare services like in Botswana?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Botswana. They wrote...

"Botswana has a public healthcare system that provides free healthcare services to its citizens. The public healthcare system is supported by the government and is managed by the Ministry of Health and Wellness. The public healthcare system includes primary healthcare services, such as immunizations, antenatal care, and family planning, as well as secondary and tertiary care services, such as specialized care for chronic diseases and surgeries. The public healthcare system also provides mental health services, including counseling and psychotherapy. Private healthcare services are also available in Botswana, and many people opt to use these services due to their higher quality of care," remarked another expat who made the move to Botswana.
