What should I pack when moving to Kyrgyzstan?
We asked people living in Kyrgyzstan to list three things they wish they had brought and three they wish they had left behind. They responded...
"When moving to Kyrgyzstan, it is important to pack warm clothing, as temperatures can drop below freezing in the winter. It is also important to bring a good supply of sunscreen and insect repellent, as the sun can be strong and the insects can be plentiful. Additionally, it is a good idea to bring a first aid kit, as medical care may not be readily available in some areas. Finally, it is important to bring a valid passport and any necessary visas or permits," said another expat in Kyrgyzstan.
"I wish I had brought more of: my favorite beauty/toiletry items, non-perishable food/sauce mixes, coffee I wish I had left at home: my good shoes, pasta (there is plenty over here), skirts," wrote a member who made the move to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
