Coming to Visit Belize in May 2017

Hey Guys,
I am 38 year old Army vet who wants to move to Belize. In May I am coming to visit and do some recon. I do not want to see the tourist area because that is not where I want to end up. Are there any Expats/Vets who would be willing to meet with me over a Beer, maybe show me around, and answer some questions I might have?
