ICJ Update

As one who is thinking of Belize as a location for retirement (it's still a few years away) we're doing our due-diligence in researching etc., etc., etc..... I saw an message on the Guatemala vs Belize land dispute and it said the results were in. I'm assuming it's the vote on the referendum to send the dispute to the ICJ? I found another article indicating that if the dispute does go to the ICJ it could be 5 yrs before there is a ruling. This will be in the period in which my wife and I will be planning to relocate. What is the 'feel' on the ground? Is the ruling going to favor Belize? If I'm reading it properly San Ignacio would be under the rule of Guatemala? What happens to the folks/expats that located there? Again we're just doing our homework so that when we make a trip to start looking for towns and property that are calling our name we know where to look. (FYI we're looking at mainland and not on the island, well at this point)
Thanks to everyone helping those out that are looking.
