1) I am wondering what crime is like in smaller communities in the Cayo district or places like Placencia or Ambergris Caye. I have been reading that most of the violent crime is in Belize City but just wondering what it like elsewhere. Is there much petty crime? Is there much property theft, home invasion or worse crimes?

2) Are the police reliable and helpful if situation arise? Do expats generally feel safe in these 3 areas mentioned above?

3) On a different topic, how devastating are the hurricanes and tropical storms in these 3 areas mentioned above? Are people generally okay and does it make a big difference if you build a house with concrete?
4) Generally how do expats find the weather? Is it quite hot and humid or manageable for most people?
