Anyone familiar with Chengdu?

We are a family of 6--kids aged 18, 12, 10 and 3--with a probable move to Chengdu sometime in 2004. We previously spent a year in Dalian, 1998-1999, loved it and are excited at the chance to go back, but need some details about life in Chengdu so we can properly prepare. Thanks for your help!
