I'm a senior at Wellesley College in Boston, and I am in the process of applying for a fellowship that would allow me to travel for a year to hang out with American expatriates in eight different countries (Ecuador, Mexico, South Africa, Kenya, Germany, India, China and Japan). I'm looking to get a sense of what brought you to China, how you found the transition between the U.S. and China, and what has kept you in China. I plan on compiling a book that collects the diverse experiences of the American expatriates I meet, but for now I am simply looking for preliminary contacts to show the fellowship review committee that if I receive the funding I have a diverse array of expats to spend time with.
