I read over some of your posts on the forum. I have been traveling to Colombia from the states since 2000. Approx 11.5 years. Bogota,Barranquilla,Cali,Cartagena,Manizales and Peirera. My ex-wife is Colombiana (Barranquilla) we were married for 8 yrs and things did not work out for us.She still lives here in the States and is now an American citizen. I have put a lot of thought into this and I am wanting to move to Ecuador. I am 44 yrs old,I speak some Spanish and I love South America.I am leaning toward Ecuador due to the cost of living. .I would love to meet someone else and hopefully have a good future together. I am not retired. I can work my business in the states with a laptop and a phone with Skype.I do loans for doctors throughout the United States and I am getting set up to sell health insurance over the phone also.It does'nt matter if I am not in the USA. I just need to keep a residence in the states. So that will be my source of income,but I am also wanting to set up some websites and do some E-commerce also. I am trying to find some good apartment rentals(furnished) or houses that will allow my two small dogs (Jack Russells) and in a safe area. I am a former police officer and prior military, My question is Visa requirements. I am single and am wondering if the City of Cuenca will be large enough to socialize and hopefully meet someone special. I was really considering moving to Colombia but the cost is so high in Medellin and its not safe. But the drawback is many beautiful women there to meet. I just do not have any experience meeting women from Ecuador. Any advice on the social life in Cuenca,I would be grateful.
