Working in Ecuador

Hi everybody - I need a reality check here. For many reasons, mostly that I can't stand living here anymore, I wish to relocate to Ecuador. I would also need to find work somewhere, somehow, as I cannot retire. I am a psychologist and perhaps could serve the English-speaking community, or teach English, or whatever. My preference would be Guayaquil. So does this sound doable or am I only dreaming? Many thanks.
