I am headed to Ecuador in a few months to see if I want to move there and check out a few locales. I am on a tight budget and am hoping to find "lowish" priced, short term rental. anything would do in my chosen first target towns (Vilcabama and Cotacachi), I need a bed, a roof, a toilet, and hopefully some sort of hotplate or something to cook on and that's about it. I am finding zero information online in that department and the short term options I am finding (from their looks may be priced over my head) don't post their rates anywhere including their websites! When I searched hostels I found hotel rooms in Loja for $200-$400 PER NIGHT!!! if booked for a week. Something is a bit off here and I suspect it is the flow of information.
