Hi everyone,
My name is Kyle Anthony and I am a student at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. This semester I have the good fortune of studying abroad in paradise (AKA Ecuador). For one of my classes I am writing an anthropology on why people are moving to Ecuador by the thousands as well as if once arriving, Ecuador met your expectations.
The following is the list of questions I am most interested in knowing:
1) How long have you lived in Ecuador?
2) What influenced your decision to leave your previous country of residence?
3) What drew you to Ecuador originally?
4) Do you remember a time when you found it hard to adjust to life in Ecuador?
5) Do you work in Ecuador?
a. If so, how does it differ from working in your previous country of residence?
b. If not, why?
6) In your experience, how do the following things differ from your previous country of residence?
a. Housing
b. Health care
c. Education
d. Cost of necessities (food, water, clothing, etc.)
e. Cost of luxuries (cell phones, computers, jewelry, etc.)
f. Cuisine
7) Is there anything you would change about Ecuador?
8) How do you feel about the increasing number of expats in Ecuador?
9) Where do you see Ecuador in 5 years?
a. How about 10?
b. What about 50 years in the future?
10) Will you ever leave Ecuador?
a. If so, where do you see yourself going and why?
If you can answer all or any of these questions I will be extremely grateful. Also, if you live in Quito or the surrounding area, I'd love to take you out for a beer and hear about your experiences in Ecuador thus far.
Thanks for your time,
Kyle Anthony
