Assisted Living/Nursing Home

Hello everyone, my husband and I have visited Ecuador once and have it on our radar for possible retirement in a few years. If we move there, we plan to stay, and are thinking about options there for long term care or assisted living if/when the need arises. Has anyone visited or planned for use of local facilities that offer this type of care or would you return to the US? Is there insurance available for long term care/assisted living or nursing home care? Not the most upbeat subject, but definitely one we need to address in our decision on where to retire.
