My wife passed away a year ago. Shortly afterwards, my oldest son met an amazing woman from Guayaquil. They are married now, and my son moved there. I've already spent more than a month there and loved it. So now I am busy cleaning out my house in Minnesota, because a bedroom in Guayaquil is waiting for me. The plan is to split the time between my native Germany, the US and eventually the Ecuadorian highlands. I have family there now, and they took turns to make sure I was never bored while there. Amazingly friendly and family orientated people. I am also a foodie, and getting super fresh fish from the mercado in Paraguay is paradise for me. So yes. Really looking forward to this new adventure that is supposed to happen in spring 2022. I might buy an old VW Kombi and travel the country.
