Moving to Ecuador

Language - no, I do not expect everyone to speak English just because I do, but I have lived abroad my entire life in dozens of countries and if I learned each language I could be a Harvard graduate! I will of course attempt to learn basics. In the meantime, how do people find things on a daily. long term, and bureaucratic level with not knowing Spanish?

Considering Salinas and Canoa - coastal area essential - thoughts?

I work overseas and will do so whilst ''living'' there. My partner will receive her residency visa as part of this plan in the meantime, as she will remain in Ecuador. Does anyone see potential issues here?

What are monthly bills and foods, generally, for two people shopping modestly? We are minimalists, but I do need plenty protein!
