I have been traveling in Latin America off and on for the past 10 years and have just recently sold my business in Canada. My partner and I have decided to start investigating as to whether or not Mexico is the place where we want to settle. We have fallen in love with the colonial region and do not want to live in ex-pat enclaves such as Chapala or San Miguel and are considering Oaxaca and Xalapa. We would very much apprecitate finding out if it is possible to live in these cities on ca. $1500.00 USD per month. Our taste and needs are quite simple and we will be very comfortable living in Mexican communities and neighborhoods. Any comments on this would be greatly appreciated.
