Not sure what's going on

Can a US citizen (from California) that is currently married (though has mentioned DIVORCE due to unhappiness) be legally married to a Philippine national without legal problems. Would that marriage be valid in the eyes of family as well as church. My husband wad raised Catholic, I am Protestant (do not believe in divorce) though I believe he is having an affair (online and telephone that I know of). Wanting to start a business in the Philippines due to opportunities as well as financial issues here at home. Family of 6 to support (including me). HELP!!!
