Questions about moving to Uruguay: residency, proof of income, and bringing cats

Hello everyone,

My husband and I are planning to move to Uruguay with our three cats and apply for permanent residency. We would really appreciate any advice or shared experiences regarding the following:

1. Proof of income:
My husband works as a manager of a foreign legal entity that has no economic ties with Uruguay (no clients, branches, or representatives here).
– What kind of documents are required to prove this type of income?
– Is it possible to provide a notarized sworn statement declaring that all income is earned abroad, instead of registering with DGI and BPS?

2. DGI and BPS registration:
Do we need to register with DGI (tax authority) and BPS (social security) if we are not planning to work or do business in Uruguay?
If registration is required for residency, how does the process work?

3. Flying with cats:
Has anyone here moved to Uruguay with cats recently? We'd love to hear about your experience with the paperwork, vaccinations, airline choice, customs process, and any tips to make it easier for the cats and for us.

Thanks in advance for any help or insights you can offer!

Best regards!
