What advice would you give someone preparing to move to your area about the actual move, choosing a neighborhood and finding a home?
Do your homework! Calgary is a beautiful city, close to the mountains. Anything you could want you can find here. There aren't really very many high crime areas here, just driving through a neighborhood will give you a feel if you want to live there.
What type of housing do you live in? Is this typical for most expats in your area?
Live in a Condo so I don't have to worry about yardwork. Some expats live in houses and apartments, there is a wide variety to choose from.
How did you choose your neighborhood and find your home or apartment?
Looked on the internet and researched areas.
Are your housing costs higher or lower than they were in your home country? What is the average cost of housing there?
Housing costs are definitely lower. Paid 140 for a 1200 foot condo, its only four years old so it's all like new.
