What is your current status? Are you single, dating, in a long-term relationship, married or divorced?

I am married but seperated

What is it like in your country of residence for someone with your relationship status (married/divorced/dating)? If you're single, how do you meet other people? Do English-speaking people tend to gravitate to certain parts of your city?

I met my husband in Egypt while on a visit. I was living in UAE at the time. We comunicated thru emails and chatted for about one year. I returned to Egypt and married him. I thought he was modern in his thoughts but as time went on I came to relize that he was far from that. I had been married before and have a daughter and he was aware of all this. But Egyption men are very jealous and he can not deal with it. When they are angry they will say anything to make you loose it. This has been a daily thing with us. For him to make me feel I am not worth living.

If you are married or in a relationship with a person of another nationality, how has this experience enriched you as a person. What kind of challenges do you face?

The challenges I face is believing in myself again. I have been made to feel that everything I do or have done is evil.

What would be the best advice you could give someone with your relationship status that lives in your country of residence? Any other thoughts?

If you marry someone from Egypt and he is young, be careful. Let them know right from the start you do not wish and will not return to your country. Let him know that you come with nothing but your heart. Tell them nothing about other relationships in your past. Let him offer you more than just his love to you. Meet his family - know them. Make sure that you can live in his mean for a long while to come until he has proven himself to you. And God Bless all you woman looking for love in all the wrong places as I did.
