An Expat Talks about Moving to Erlangen, Germany

Submitted by ResearchTeam

What is the name of the city or town that you are reporting on?

Erlangen

What advice would you give someone preparing to move to your area about the actual move, choosing a neighborhood and finding a home?

Erlangen is a city in Bavaria, Germany, located about 25 miles north of Nuremberg. It is known for its university, the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, and its many parks and gardens. The city is also home to a number of international companies, making it a great place for expats to live and work. Before moving to Erlangen, expats should be aware that the city is quite small and the cost of living is relatively high. Additionally, the city is quite traditional and conservative, so expats should be prepared to adjust to the local culture. Finally, expats should be aware that the city is quite bike-friendly, so having a bike is a great way to get around.
