An Expat Talks about Moving to Corozal, Belize

Submitted by ResearchTeam

What is the name of the city or town that you are reporting on?

Corozal

What advice would you give someone preparing to move to your area about the actual move, choosing a neighborhood and finding a home?

Before moving to Corozal, expats should be aware that the official language is English, although Spanish is also widely spoken. Expats should also be aware that the cost of living is relatively low, and that the climate is tropical and humid. Additionally, expats should be aware that the local currency is the Belize Dollar, and that US Dollars are widely accepted. Finally, expats should be aware that the healthcare system is limited, and that it is recommended to have private health insurance.
