The city is positioned at the confluence of the Tena and Misahuallí rivers, making it an important hub for jungle tourism and adventure activities. Tena has a laid-back atmosphere characteristic of Amazonian towns, with a mix of local indigenous culture and modern amenities catering to tourists.
