"Hi I'm a Brit considering a move to Portugal and specifically Madeira. I'm pretty tired of the British weather and the strikes. Above all my experience with the NHS last year has made me think hard. I work as a finance contractor and have been doing so remotely since the start of Covid. My liefestyle is such that I could easily move to somewhere like Madeira and return to the UK to visit clients etc as required. I currently live in a rural location on the south coast of England and so the costs of travelling to London or further afield in the UK are not wildly different than the costs of a return flight from Madeira. I am hoping to tap into this forum for information to help me make a decision about moving and I will do my best to contribute as well. Cheers Paul" - Westcar

"Hi, all : If anyone has taken belongings to Portugal, could you please advise how thorough the list of items should be? With larger items, it seems to be pretty straightforward: couch - 1; chair - 6, etc. What about smaller stuff, like clothing and such? Will "pants - 10", "underwear - 12" be OK? Or something more detailed is required: "bras - 5"; socks - 12 pairs; "sweaters - 5"; "t-shirts - 30", "sneakers - 4 pairs"; "shoes - 6 pairs", etc. Shall each box be itemized or that's an overkill?
