Salary Expectations in Canada

Hi all, I am actually Canadian born and raised, but I've been living abroad ever since graduation and have no idea how the job market is in Canada. I'm thinking of moving back, but I feel like a foreigner moving to a new country.

Does anyone have a rough estimate of salary expectations for a 25-year old financial analyst, who has 5 years of solid work experience but is only part-qualified so far, and whose bachelor degree is not in finance? I'm hoping to go back home to Toronto, but also open to other cities.

Try looking in Canadian INDEED.COM website, craigslist has a lot of jobs listed too.
Lots of contract companies up there too like Adecco, Aerotek, etc.
Friend of mine is in IT in Alberta, lots of jobs taken by foreigners, IT- you know from where

Canada is one of those countries where qualifications are less important than what you can do in most cases. That's not true for professionally certified jobs like accounting or medicine, but for tech or finance, I believe it is.

Bottom line: you may end up working at Starbucks for a year or two while you get back on your feet, but you should be able to land a good life in Canada within a couple of years, assuming you're pretty good at what you do. You'll have to keep an open mind about alternate career paths, though, given your lack of firm qualifications in your field.
