As November 1 and 2 are Chilean national holidays, you can expect MOST shopping stores to be closed. The same as in the USA like on July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day, etc. But NOT ALL stores will be closed. Some LARGE stores may be open but with limited hours. All hospitals, Taxi service, airports, etc should be open and operating. You will need to get used to the 18 Chilean National Holidays and plan accordingly. Chileans are extremely hard-working people and they take their national holidays very seriously even if some are "religious" holidays and welcome them and look forward to them. Do a Google search for those dates that are considered Chilean National Holidays to help you plan ahead. O:)
