I'm coming to Alex for a while, and have some questions that I haven't seen answered anywhere else.
I'm wondering if there are coin laundries around the city? I'm going to be living near the Corniche.
I understand that the cab drivers can be quite unpredictable with their rates, but I've heard they change prices even after the ride--how much of this is scare tactics and how much is truth? I will be depending on cabs.
Are there busses, and are they safe?
For a 10 minute walk, I'd rather do that rather than pay a cab. I'm an older woman--would I be safe? (Not talking about night time).
I heard about Carrefour, but are there any other malls around the Library, within walking distance?
