Possibly moving to Côte D'Ivoire. Help!

In 1997 my father messed up my paperwork and caused me to become an undocumented immigrant in the US. So because of the mistake 17 years ago when i first came ive spent the past 4 years trying to fix my status. Unfortunately im still undocumented here and haven't been able to go to school, drive or even work. So im faced with 2 decisions, I can either stay here in familiar surroundings and continue to do nothing while waiting for immigration policies to change and possibly be deported at ANYTIME. Or I could leave voluntarily and come back to I.C. as im still technically a citizen. While in I.C. i would like to attend school and someday move to / live in london closer to family but im fearful i will be barred from leaving again. I have family whom will help me and I do speak fluent french but im afraid because I was raised american I wont survive in I.C. I could really use some advice. P.s. Until immigration policies change i do not have the resources to change my status here.
