I'm looking to set-up a new eco-tourism business in Sri Lanka. I currently live in the UK and have a knowledgable partner in Sri Lanka. I want to know if it's more tax effective to register the business in the UK (as operating in Sri Lanka), or to register in Sri Lanka. I expect at the moment that we will be a soletrader/partnership company. I've owned a Limited business previously and want to avoid the high accountancy costs that are involved with setting up this sort of corperation. I know a limited amount about double taxation, but want to know the risked involved and if anybody has any advice. I've found it difficult at this stage after making enquiries to acertain good advice from the Sri Lankan embassy in London, the registrar of companies in Sri Lanka and other related organisation, as they just forwrd you to someone else/or documents.
We will offer numerous tailor-made tour, cultural adventure and volunteering packages across the country. This is fully planned, with contacts, accomodation and travel organised as I've made several trips already.
Can anyone help or provide advice? Any would be greatly appreciated.
