moving to colombo from birmingham uk

hello all, i am 20 year old male and have applied for a Pa job with a large global business based in colombo, although the jobs offeres paid for accomodation and driver, if successful i will be moving alone and at the age of 20 thats quite scary so was wondering how other british nationals found living in colombo and did you feel comfortable, how where you treated and was it easy making new friends
