living in istanbul

We have been here for nearly one year. My daughter loves her school and I am busy at work. My wife has not settled yet, mainly as we have not built up any sort of social circle. She has always been used to having a job and the independence that goes with it.
Basically, can anyone give me some ideas where to meet other expats, pubs etc.
We lived in mideast for 10 years and had a great social life. That is the main drawback for us here now.
