Treating rain water for drinking

Hello to anyone crazy enough to be living in Nicaragua!

Just kidding. It's great here. I'm living near Granada, in the jungle and I love it!

One thing that's concerning is the tendency to purify water with bleach. Can someone help me find a chemical store? I want to use Sodium Chlorite water purifier but because it's an oxidizer like pool shock, I don't think I can bring it on using airbox or MyUS. I think you can get Nicaragua jail time for shipping oxidizers on an airplane.

Anybody have any experience with this sort of situation? I'm all ears.

Does a resource exist for finding things that are hard to find? When I got here a month ago, I couldn't find my feet. Even though I'm getting better, I could still use some help.

Thanks everyone, peace.

Max
