Summary: A newcomer to Idaho should begin their search by researching the different cities and towns in the state to determine which areas best fit their needs. They should also consider their budget and the type of home they are looking for. Once they have narrowed down their search, they should contact a local real estate agent to help them find the perfect home. Homes in Idaho typically include amenities such as spacious yards, mountain views, and access to outdoor activities. Many homes also feature modern kitchens, updated bathrooms, and energy-efficient appliances. Depending on the area, some homes may also include access to community amenities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, and parks.

What do I need to know when buying property in Idaho?

When we asked expats what advice they would give a foreigner before buying a property in Idaho, they said:

"When buying property in Idaho, it is important to research the local housing market and any zoning or pre-existing restrictions that could effect your purchase. It is also wise to ensure that the property is properly inspected as well as survey the area to check for any potential issues such as flooding, infrastructure, and road access. Additionally, buyers should be sure to understand all of the applicable taxes, regulations, and homeowners association details before moving forward with a purchase. Finally, it is essential to get detailed documentation regarding the land’s boundaries and potential liens or easements that may affect the property," wrote one expat who made the move to Idaho.
