"Life for a retiree in Jeju Island can be quite serene and fulfilling. The island is known for its natural beauty, with stunning landscapes, beautiful beaches, and a mild climate that makes it a popular destination for retirees. There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy, such as hiking, golfing, fishing, and exploring the island's many parks and natural attractions. The expat community in Jeju is not as large as in other parts of Korea, but it is growing. There are several expat groups and clubs that organize social events, and English is commonly spoken in tourist areas, making it easier for non-Korean speakers to get by. Culturally, Jeju Island has a lot to offer. There are several museums and art galleries to explore, including the Jeju National Museum and the Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum. The island is also home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes. Recreational activities are abundant on Jeju Island. The island is known for its golf courses, with several world-class facilities available. There are also numerous hiking trails, including the famous Jeju Olle Trail, which circles the entire island. Water sports such as surfing, scuba diving, and fishing are also popular. Nightlife on Jeju Island is more laid-back than in larger Korean cities, but there are still plenty of options for those who enjoy a night out. There are several bars and clubs in the main city of Jeju, as well as a casino for those who enjoy gambling.
