What do expats find most challenging?
We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Virgin Gorda. They wrote...
"Expats in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands, often find the slower pace of life challenging, as it can take longer to get things done compared to what they may be used to. They may also struggle with the island's limited resources, such as fewer shopping and dining options, and limited healthcare facilities. The high cost of living can also be a challenge, as goods often have to be imported and housing can be expensive. Some expats may find it difficult to integrate into the local community, as the culture is very different from what they are used to. The lack of public transportation can also be a challenge for those who are used to relying on it. Lastly, dealing with the tropical climate and hurricane season can be difficult for those not accustomed to such weather conditions," said a member in Virgin Gorda, the British Virgin Islands.
