What do expats find most challenging?
We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Wassenaar. They wrote...
"Expats in Wassenaar often find the local culture to be quite different from what they are used to. The Dutch are known for their directness and bluntness, which can be difficult for expats to adjust to. Additionally, the Dutch are very punctual and expect others to be as well, which can be a challenge for those who are used to a more relaxed attitude towards time. Furthermore, the Dutch are very private and do not often share personal information, which can be difficult for expats who are used to more open and friendly interactions," wrote a member who made the move to Wassenaar, The Netherlands.
