What do expats find most challenging?

Answer this Question

We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Taif. They wrote...

"One of the most challenging aspects of the local culture for expats in Taif is the strict adherence to Islamic law and the conservative dress code. Women are expected to wear an abaya and hijab in public, and men must dress modestly. Additionally, alcohol and pork are strictly prohibited, and public displays of affection are not allowed. Expats may also find it difficult to adjust to the lack of nightlife and entertainment options, as well as the limited availability of Western products," commented one expat who made the move to Taif, Saudi Arabia.
