What is it like to retire in Reykjavik?
We asked retirees what it is like retiring in Reykjavik. They said...
"Retiring in Reykjavik can offer a peaceful, but vibrant atmosphere with plenty of outdoor and cultural activities to enjoy. The mild Icelandic weather means the city's outdoor spaces remain open work year-round, making it a great place for retirement. Housing costs in Reykjavik tend to be lower than other parts of Europe; however, the cost of living is higher than in other parts of the country. Reykjavik is also home to a large number of cultural festivals and events, as well as plenty of shops and restaurants to explore. Public transport is also efficient, making it easy to get around the city. All in all, it is a great place to experience a relaxed and worry-free retirement," wrote a member who made the move to Reykjavik, Iceland.
