However, for more specialized treatments or serious emergencies, residents may need to travel to larger hospitals in other parts of the island. The healthcare system in Laborie, like the rest of Saint Lucia, is a mix of public and private providers. While the public healthcare services are accessible to all, the private healthcare services offer more personalized care at a higher cost. Despite the efforts to provide healthcare to all residents, there are still challenges such as limited resources and understaffing," wrote a member who made the move to Laborie, Saint Lucia.
