"Healthcare services in Helsinki are of a high quality and standard. Helsinki offers comprehensive medical care, including preventive and specialized care, to residents who are eligible for public health services. Health centers provide general medical care for all ages, with outpatient and inpatient services, including mental health care. All cities in Finland provide citizens with a health and medical service plan, entitling them to medical treatment by a doctor or specialist as needed or recommended. The city also has seven private hospitals and a large number of private and public clinics. Helsinki central hospital serves as the principle referral center. There are also a number of community-based and specialized health care centers providing health, dental, and other services. Helsinki also provides a variety of specialists, such as dentists, optometrists and physiatrists, as well as specialized health care, including occupational therapy and other academic disciplines," said a member in Helsinki, Finland.
